Connecting Sony BDPS360 to wireless network
Hi, I'm trying to find the best (and least expensive) method to connect by Sony Bluray player to my wireless network (the TV and Bluray player are in a different room to my broadband router and I don't want to have to run an ethernet cable).
I have cable broadband provided by Virgin Media and use a Netgear WGR614v9 for my home wireless network. I have several other old broadband routers and would like to know if/how I can configure them as wireless bridges. I have an older netgear router (DG834Gv2) and a Siemens Gigaset SE587. If possible I'd like to use one of these rather than have to buy a bridge device.
If it's not possible to use one of my old routers then which is the best bridge device to use? Sony recommended the WET610N, but I'd like some advice about other products.
Regards,
Dave

Dear Dave,
http://www.rayinblu.com/blu-ray-wireless lists devices that you can use for wireless connection. This page is a bit dated but should give you some idea.
To use old router as bridge, check out OpenWrt and DD-WRT projects which provide open source firmware to convert any of the supported wireless routers into wireless bridge or AP Client.
Last thing, we highly recommend using wireless-N since wireless-G is not fast enough for HD video.
