ethernet connect to Sony S350 BP
I have purchased the Linksys WET54G and configured it with my wireless router. It is communicating with the wireles routher and I can even conenct it to my laptop (with it's wireless turned off) and connect to the internet. So I am assuing it is connected to the internet properly. Then I go and plug it into the Sony BP-s350 Ethernet port and I run the set up using the config controls on the player and it says it connects but then I go to update the player and it says it can not connect to the internet???? I am not sure what settings i need to change and the Sony install guide is very poor on this matter. If you have any help i would be greatly apprecated. BTW you have a nice little site here!
Updating firmware may require shutting down its operation - may be that's why it loses Internet connection. Also note that the firmwares of all the Blu-ray players on market are still under active development with possibly known bugs (which aren't published). I suggest using CD-R to update the firmware. I did that way for my Panasonic and it was painless.
