Help with Samsung BD-P3600 (wireless) and sony BDP-N460 (wired)
I have been through 4 Blu-ray players and all have had the same issue. I am now down to the Samsung BD-P3600 using their wireless dongle in one room and a Sony BDP-N460 wired with a Cat6 cable to my router (which is a Kyocera KR2 EVDO router). All players that I have tried (included another Samsung and an Insignia) connected to the router and were assigned IP addresses, had the proper gateway info, and DNS primary and secondary info as well. However, the Insignia is the only one that would access the internet, and this one would do so intermittently. The two Samsung models and the Sony would only connect to the router, never acquiring internet access. The Samsung models both report "Gateway Ping failure" and the Sony reports "Gateway not responding." I have assigned both units static IPs in my router and set both static IPs as DMZs to bypass the built in firewall, but don't know what other settings I can tinker with on my router. I do not use MAC Address filtering, so that's not what's blocking these players internet access; and I have a laptop and desktop both connected to this router as well as an internet ready wireless printer, which all work flawlessly. I need some help, as I am pulling what's left of my hair out! Neither Samsung nor Sony’s help desks could help, nor can I obtain support for this router (despite being one year old) as Kyocera has dropped it! ARGGGGG!!!

Thanks for your help; It turns out the problem is a compatibility issue. Since I must have a 3G router for internet access, I picked up a nice Linksys Ultra N router, which I "daisy chained" to the KR2. Now both players are connected to the Linksys and all is well.
We are sorry (and surprised) that you are having that many problems with network connections. We haven't worked with Kyocera KR2 EVDO router, so the details will not be specific to this router. In our experience, almost all Blu-ray players connect to network and Internet painlessly and instantly through wired connection. (We have found only one player with network connection issues.) Wireless connection requires additional settings (like channel, security etc) which must be correct to make connection.
We suggest trying the wired connection first with the following steps:
1. Reset your router with reset button. The button is typically located on back or bottom and requires a pencil to push it. The button must be held down for 10-30 seconds.
2. We will use your laptop for testing the connections before we use them on the Blu-ray players. Turn off your laptop's wireless receiver to avoid any confusion. Make sure your laptop is not able to talk to Internet before we attempt connection.
3. Connect the network cable from your laptop to router. Make sure the Internet connection is working.
4. Browse BDP-N460's menus to set it on DHCP.
5. Now move the cable connection from laptop to BDP-N460. Make sure BDP-N460 has external memory if it doesn't have internally.
6. Try running network connection test on BDP-N460. We believe that should work without a problem.
Now for Samsung
1. Set appropriate wireless settings in your router (reset causes all settings to go back to default).
2. Browse Samsung menus to make sure the wireless network settings match your router's settings. Set network to DHCP.
3. Try running network connection test. It should work. If it doesn't work, try moving the cable that connects Sony to this player and repeat network test.
If none of this works, it is possible that your router has some incompatibility. You can try updating router's firmware from its vendor's site and repeat the procedure. Good luck.
