Let us know if you are having problems
We see from logs that some people are having problems. But from logs we can't tell the full extent of the issue. Please let us know the problems you are having so we can solve them.
User at IP address 220.253.183.111 - you need a new disc since your player is not able to apply major update. Let us know your order number of address so that we can send you another disc.
User at IP address 98.234.3.149 - you are having server communication issues. Please let us know the details of your server.
To find your IP address, visit a site like http://www.whatismyip.com/. Note that your IP address may change daily but the first couple of numbers are likely to remain the same.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
Director - Sorry for the late reply - most of our staff has been out for the holidays.
You should install Windows version (http://www.rayinblu.com/sites/default/files/pms/pms-setup-windows.exe) and not the "platform independent" version of the server. The "platform independent" version is for Unix and Linux versions without GUI (may be we should call it that :-) ).
Please note that the "No server found" is a temporary message which should go away as soon as a server is found (we should clarify that on the message). Your previous post indicated that Rendr was able to find server - that part should work the same way as before. Let us know if it works.
Still no luck.
I tried again today and the rendr disc did an update and ended up with the message 'No Server Found', I re downloaded and reinstalled the PS3 media software from your site, same result.
I also noted on your how-to page the following instructions under 'platform independent'.
" 1. Install Sun Java 6 and make it your default Java.
2. Install FFmpeg.
3. Install ImageMagick.
4. Install MPlayer and MEncoder.
5. Download PS3 Media Server - Rendr Edition from the link above.
6. Extract the downloaded archive to any folder of your choice.
7. Make PMS.sh and linux/tsMuxeR executable.
8. Run it with PMS.sh script or similar."
I tried to get these files but they all seem like linux files to me (excpet java) and not easily installed under windows. Can you confirm that all this extra software needs to be installed.
Thanks again.
We will analyze your logs. We are also in process of releasing an update by tomorrow - we will do our best to make sure any changes that may be needed are rolled into it.
Thanks guys, still no dice.
I updated the PS3 server software and java and when I played the rayinblu disc it updated itself as well. It will still only play files for a few minutes then crash back out to the rayinblu menu screen.
The IP should be 220.253.x.x I noticed you had a notice of a faulty disc not being able to do a major update above where the IP was similar (though the last 2 set of digits is different). Could it be mine?
Cheers.
Director,
We are unsure of your IP address so we looked at all the logs of Oppo players. We believe the issues you observed are fixed in the version released in the last couple of days. Also, we have not yet implemented music playlists (.m3u) (we are adding it to desired features list).
Thanks for the replies,
Pretty sure they were SD files and the PC is connected via a cable and not wirelessly. Speed shouldn't be an issue as the same files play on my EVA8000 streaming box without any issues and it's running wireless.
Keep up the good work guys, this product has real potential. :)
Director - we will analyze your logs within a couple of days and update here. (Sorry for the delay in analyzing logs since we are in the middle of code updates to both the PS3MS-Rendr and the Rendr disc - but we will analyze the logs before updates in case we can roll the changes in.)
What video content are you testing with - HD or SD?
Also how is your computer connected to your router - wired or wireless?
I've found that at present I'm unable to play SD content (I think it's an issue with PAL as I'm in the UK) but I have played some HD files without issue. However high-bitrate files are unlikely to play as Blu-Ray players network connections are generally slow (according to RayInBlu) and it also depends on the speed of your PC (as some files may have to be transcoded).
Hi Guys,
Received the disc today 24/11/09 and popped it in my OPPO BD-83. It was detected by the PS3 media server software no probs. I can navigate the folders OK but here are a few issues that I've noted so far.
1. It does not seem to play music playlists (.m3u)
2 . When playing video it will play for a while then freeze, it might continue playing or it might drop back to the rayinblyu 'desktop'.
I have tried a number of different files with the same result.
I am using Windows 7 Professional and the OPPO BD player is hardwired to my router. Is there a Windows 7 setup page for us to reference? Should I turn the Windows 7 media streaming options on? etc.
Thanks the product has great potential.
