Need some help please...
I'm trying to do the same and I could sure use some help in this area.
I have a Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless router connected to Comcast internet.
I have just purchased the WGA54G Wireless-G Game Adapter.
I have the Sony 350 Blu-Ray player.
I connected the Wireless adapter to my router, configured it and I can see it on my network.
I disconnect it from the router, move it to the other room and connect it to the Blu-Ray device, but can no longer see the adapter on the network. Take it back to the router, connect it and it shows up on the network. I have signal in the room where the Blu-Ray is, my laptop is in there.
I use WPA2 security on my router. I configured 64-bit WEP on the adapter.
Here are my questions...
1. What should the network settings on the Blu-Ray be set too?
1a - Do I use a unique IP address?
1b - Should the gateway be the adapter or the router IP address?
1c - DNS server IPs should be waht is on the router?
2. Linksys tech support wanted to charge me money to log in and configure the two devices to work together. Is that actually necessary and why?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

WPA and WEP are two different types of Encryption and both should be the same. I recommend setting them both up to use WPA which also workes well with MS Vista. If you only change the Adapter to WPA, it shouldn't affect the settings on your desktops and laptops. If you change te settings on your router you will need to make changes to your computers.
Other than this webcam suggestion, I know nothing else about your problem and do not even own a Blu-Ray player.

Be sure to set the router to used in the room with your blu ray player to AP CLIENT mode and use the same encryption on both the main router and AP preferably WPA2 Personal. Set the network properties in th blu ray player menu to DHCP to get an IP address automatically. This should work.
My understanding of WGA54G is that it is an AP Client which means that it becomes transparent once it is connected in the network.
0. As stated earlier, match the security configurations.
1. Blu-ray can be set to DHCP (get IP automatically)
1a. Use DHCP (automatic IP) whenever possible. If you need to set manually, IP must be unique.
1b. The gateway IP would be that from your router
1c. DNS server would be from the router
2. It is amazing how the device manufacturers write incomprehensible documents, sprinkle them with bunch of elementary or irrelevant pictures, don't provide tech support, and still expect people to buy their products. Just spread the word.
