PS3 Media Server - Rendr Edition v1.20.10 Nov 27 - Improves Browsing Speed
This update improves browsing speed. A large amount of browsing delay is caused by the server analyzing the media present in the folders being browsed.
1. This update lets user tell folders that contain media to analyze in advance. Just drop the folders to analyze on the drop box on the server screen.
2. The media data is cached so that it doesn't need to be analyzed when the server restarts.

I've found that by default my c:\users\myusername is selected in the 'media folders to scan' box and scans every time I start the PMS-Server program.
I seem unable to change this permanently.
If I delete this folder, add my own and click the 'save' button, the next time I start the program it goes back to my c:\users\myusername folder and begins scanning again.
Is there a way to prevent this, or this how it's supposed to function?
If you delete the c:\users\myusername from the "media folders" list, it should stop scanning it immediately and not scan it in future - at least that's the way it is supposed to work. The folders to scan are listed in a text file "SCAN.txt" in the install directory of the PS3 Media Server. That file can be edited manually if desired. If this is deleted, it defaults back to c:\users\myusername.
It looks like my problem was down to the fact there was no scan.txt in my PS3 Media Server folder.
I created my own, with the location of the folder I do want to be scanned, and that seems to have done the trick.
Thanks!
I still seem to have the same problem. I can create a scan.txt manually, add the location of the folder I want to be scanned and this will correctly appear in the media folders box.
The problem is, once this has been scanned the program then proceeds to scan my C:\Users\myusername folder!
I've uninstalled & reinstalled to no effect - I also noticed that no scan.txt file is present after a fresh install. Can you host a correct scan.txt file, or at least post what the correct formatting should be?
I have also deleted the C:\Users\myusername folder from the media box and this does not re-appear once I've created my own scan.txt file but the folder is still scanned!
I've also noticed that the C:\Users\myusername folder is permanently shared in the Rendr screen on my blu-ray player even though I do not have it selected (or even displayed) in my shared folders tab. Could this be related?
Streaming - we actually plan to remove the default folder in upcoming release (by tomorrow) since it is more of a problem than help.
