Version update posted - your disc will use it on next run
This update is based on analysis of first set of logs from the beta testers. The modifications include
1. Prompt to select SD (Standard Definition) video format (720x480 or 720x576) that would work with your TV since the Blu-ray players report 720x480 even in countries where it should be 720x576.
2. Error in setting video play parameters in one case - possibly cause of blank video error seen by some.
3. Browsing related issues reported in error logs.
In addition, some errors logs show communication problems between Rendr and PS3 Media Server. Some of these problems may be caused by the PC running PS3 Media Server and would be solved by rebooting it. We will continue monitoring this issues.

Thanks for the update. I was able to choose the resolution. There is still problems with the playing of avi files. I left the PS3 server at defaults and did not change any of the transcoding options. The movies play for about 5 minutes then black screen pause for at least a minute then continue, then stutter along. Well it is a beta and bugs are sure to be found. I will keep trying different avi files. Maybe the PS3 server software needs tweaking to better run with rendr. I dont know....
Rick,
We tested (hopefully) the same video (same title, 229,493,782 bytes, 21 min 39s, video XviD 640x360, 29.97 fps, audio mp3 44.1KHz) but in 720x480 format on PS3 Media Server - Rendr Edition 1.20.05 running on Vista. The Rendr disc was played on two players Panasonic BD35 and Sony PS3. For us, the video played without problems.
Could you retry the video after clearing the BD video data on the player? Make sure the server is 1.20.05. After the play is complete (and assuming the problem persists), could you email the log from the media server (file debug.log in PS3 media server install directory) to rayinblu _AT_ rayinblu.com. Thanks.
Still obtaining same errors. Movie file plays for a few minutes then stops...black screen and crashes back to folder directory. I have tried playing different movie files including files with MKV extensions and the same thing occurs. I know these files play as I have played them on my Sony Bravia TV through my HTPC using windows media center.
I have emailed the whole debug.log from the PS3 server, version 1.20.05. You probably only need the last couple of pages but I have included the full logs.
Hope this might help.

I am going to try and get another brand of blu-ray player from a friends house and swap it with my Sony BDP-S550 and see if the same issues occur. It could be a specific issue with the sony blu-ray player. Will let u know how it goes.

Rick,
The logs show that your download speed is very good (better than what we observe here) and the avi (Tri....avi) downloaded completely within the first 4 min of the play and continued playing for over 21 min till the end of media. We cannot tell from these logs about blank screens and stuttering but normally slow download is the main reason for stuttering. Bad encoding or encoding parameters would be another reason. We will test with the same avi (but unfortunately at 720x480 since we can't play 720x576 on our systems) and will keep you posted.
