Is this project still alive?

I would like to use this to enable my LG HB354 Blu-ray set for DLNA.. Is it still alive?

Note:

If this project is dead and somebody is trying to get some custom media on BR player, maybe this could help you.

My LG box does offer Youtube.. Faking DNS and some webserver on PC tweaks makes it possible to browse a "fake youtube". Maybe same could be done for BD-Live? Example:

1. Buy disc with BD-Live content
2. Sniff network/use proxy to see what URL is accessed to play trailer/deleted scene etc..
3. Install web & dns server on local PC faking this URL and stream your own movies.

Rendr Update Sept 27, 2010

An update to Rendr has been applied. It includes the following:

1. Support for Hulu (and other online services in future).
2. Fix but in screen saver that didn't clear the whole screen.
3. Fixed bugs in scroll during navigation.

First time user

I have to say I am pretty disappointed :( having spend my first minutes with the player but I hope that I am missing something (several thing actually).
I have a few questions which I will number below.

This is how it went.
Inserting the disk I was greeted with a blank screen, after a few moments the animated ray in blu logo came up, a big sign of relieve, I thought the disk was bad.

Production disc PAL failure

I've finally had a chance to test my production disc with my PAL Panasonic BD-35 player. Unfortunately on the initial test screen the PAL (720x576) footage only comes up with a blank screen again (with sound)! The HD & NTSC footage appeared to work ok however.

I also need to contact the author of Vortexbox who did have a version of PS3MediaServer working (on my linux fedora based Votexbox) with my beta disc, but this now appears to be out of date and will not update when I try - hopefully he'll be able to update it, so I can test this properly.

I am happy with the new disc

Received my disc the other day (11/08/2010) and used it in my Sony Bd Player BDPS-550 which is connected to my Sony bravia KLZ500 tv. The BDPS-550 has 1GB of memory installed. I have a server networked to the (ethernet cable) bd player and the rendr disc was able to play my movie files efficently. It played files such as, avi, mpg, mp4, ogm, mkv, xvid and divx, and wmv with no problems. There was no skipping or jumping it played the files smoothly. I was able to pause and ff and rew with no probs. It appears to be stable and the GUI is easy enough to use. I had no lockups.

Finally got disc.

Finally got my disc yesterday. Just started playing with it. It does actually work. Very cool.

UI is utterly annoying, is there a way to turn off thumbnails? It's way too slow and flaky response to the remote when selecting folders. Also the UI tends to stop responding after playing a video, just sits there as if no server was detected.

any way will keep playing. very cool

[EDIT]

Is this Crucial Gizmo usb memory fast enough

Hello, cool product! Would this memory http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=JDOD16GB-730 be fast enough in combination with my sony bdp-s1000es for 1080p playback?

Also, how does one implement updates after the purchase of a disk?

Thanks

vortecjr

Please update your beta discs to production version

From error logs, we see the beta discs still being used. Please update them to production version since the new version of PS3MS - Rendr Edition doesn't support beta discs.

To update your beta disc, either send us an email or reply to the update information email we had sent last week.
