Rendr displays all computers running PS3 Media Server - Rendr Edition. Use remote’s keys to navigate through the folders. The applicable functions of the remote keys are displayed on the right edge of the screen. -
The remote key functions change depending upon the item selected since different items have different actions associated with them. The functions listed on the right edge are updated as the selection changes. The previous screenshot displays key functions for a folder while this one for a video.
First Run
-
On first run (and whenever the player memory is cleared), Rendr needs to configure the player’s memory. It displays a wait screen with “Configuring” message. After configuring is complete, it loads the application displaying “Loading” message on the wait screen. If an update were available from the server, instead of the “Configuring” message, it would display “Updating” message while applying the update.
After loading is complete, Rendr displays a test screen like the one shown here. The test screen shows buttons for test videos corresponding to the player’s native video capabilities. Verify that each of these videos (about 2 minutes each) play correctly.
Note that the number of test buttons available for your player will vary depending upon the player’s native capabilities. The player will play non-native type of videos without any problem since the PS3 Media Server – Rendr Edition will convert them to one of the player’s native formats automatically.
Playing or viewing individual audio, video, or picture
Using the arrow keys on your remote control, locate your item. While the item is selected, click the OK/Enter/Select button to play it.
Playing multiple audio, video, or picture items as a playlist
Make sure that the play items are located inside a server folder. Using the arrow keys on your remote control, locate the folder containing your items. While the folder is selected, click the Play key or the Color-2 key to play all the items.
